The 10th Shenzhen International Industrial Design Fair 2022 is held in Hall 2 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 17th. It is hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, organized by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality and undertaken by the Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association.

Opening Ceremony

  The opening ceremony was hosted by Pang Wei, Chief Anchor of Shenzhen TV. Many leaders and representatives attended the  ceremony, including Zheng Hongbo, the member of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal Committee and member of the Party Group of the Municipal Government; Su Jindan, Vice Mayor of Qingyuan City; Yu Xiquan, Secretary of the Party Group and Director General of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality; Zheng Xuan, leader of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, as well as representatives of domestic and overseas design branding companies and media.

  China is recognized for its leadership and excellence in design around the world. Over the past 10 years, the Shenzhen International Industrial Design Fair has always been at the forefront of the times, dedicated to bringing new ideas and new thinking to China's design industry. This year, with the theme of "Dual-Design Multiverse", the fair explores the future development of the design industry and finds out the value of design in building the future lifestyle through keen insights.

  Industrial design is the starting point of the innovation chain and the source of the value chain, and it is also the winning formula to drive high-quality development, enhance product value and strengthen industrial competitiveness. At present, Shenzhen has 1,442 industrial design enterprises, 150,000 designers, 13 national industrial design centers (ranking second in the country), 114 provincial industrial design centers (ranking first in the province). It cumulative total of 1,825 iF design awards, 1176 the red dot design award. The total number of these two world's top design awards ranked first in the country for 11 consecutive years. In the future, Shenzhen will adhere to the manufacturing industry as the leader and consolidate the leading advantages of industrial design in Shenzhen, accelerating the establishment of a creative capital of innovation and entrepreneurship with global influence. He hoped that the exhibitors would take this fair as an opportunity to have in-depth discussions and brainstorm, contributing wisdom and strength to promote the development of industrial design.

Released "Shenzhen Declaration on Global Design"

  The organizing committee of the fair released the "Shenzhen Declaration on Global Design" at the opening ceremony. The declaration is based on the perspective of sustainable development and the community of human destiny, advocating that the global industry and the industrial sector unite together, giving a strong voice on industrial design to the world once again.

  It shows the confidence and responsibility of Shenzhen in holding a lead in the development and standards of industrial design. It is also an important force for industrial design empowering the economy to develop.

  With the responsibility, mission and pattern of a pioneer, Shenzhen calls on people to stimulate the passion for innovation and creativity, so that we can grasp the advantages opportunities of being the dual-area, speaking out for design globally and leading the pace of the innovation era.

  New era, new journey, new design, and new future. Over the past ten years, the fair has always focused on design innovation to drive industrial and urban development, fully showing Shenzhen's advantages and demonstration as the "City of Design" and the “City of Innovation”. This year, SZIDF will continue to adopt the "online + offline" dual-line fusion approach, with the theme of " Dual-Design Multiverse ", gathering the world's top design and innovation to promote industrial design more efficiently and with higher quality to empower the vertical fields. It will display more than 6,000 magnificent design products from the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, and other countries and regions, showcasing Shenzhen and even China's industrial resources and innovation ecosystems, achieving the goal of "Better Life in Shenzhen", and promoting the high-quality development of industrial design industry.
