Former Executive Director of Taiwan Design Center (TDC)
SONG Tongzheng holds a PhD in Management from Macquarie University, Australia. He was the CEO of Taiwan Design Center (TDC), the Dean of the Department of Business Design (now renamed the Department of Design) at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and worked as a project and product manager for Taiwan Philips Electronics Company and industrial designer for Taiwan Sanyo Electric Company.
He is currently the Dean of the School of Design and Distinguished Professor of the Department of Design, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and serves as the editor-in-chief of Elsevier SCOPUS and the deputy editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Design (SCI-E/SSCI/AHCI).
SONG has received the Red Dot Award in 2009 and 2010, as well as the Teaching Excellence Award and the Excellent Research Innovation Award from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and has been invited to serve as a reviewer for several design and innovation awards, including the Golden Pin Design Award, the Government Service Award, the Taipei International Invention Award, and the SME Innovation Research Award.
Recently, his research area focuses on service design, design management, intelligent product design, social innovation and design, and he led the Taiwan Design Center (TDC) to launch a tour design exhibition six months ago.
