LIN Xinbao

Acting Executive Director of Taiwan Design Center

Graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a master's degree in design management. In 1999, he served as the manager of Taipei Design Center in Osaka and Tokyo. After returning to Taiwan in 2003, he joined the Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

He used to be the head of the planning and management team as well as the international exchange team of Taiwan Design Center, and has been the deputy CEO of Taiwan Design Center since 2012, and has been acting as the CEO of that since June 2016.

He has been invited to speak at international forums in more than 10 countries and regions including Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Philippines, Austria, Netherlands, Japan, and mainland China, as a keynote speaker or as a judge in international competitions, and is committed to promoting the international strength and image of Taiwanese design. And he successfully established network relationships with key figures from all walks of life in the world.

He is responsible for the international bidding of the 2011 Taipei World Design Conference and Exhibition (and 19 cities from 13 countries), overall strategy development, project management, international negotiation and resource integration, etc., creating 1.36 million visitors per month, a total of 56 countries that participated in the exhibition and won unanimous praises at home and abroad. It greatly enhances the international design image of Taiwan, and also lays a good foundation for international cooperation and links.

 

He was in charge of the international bidding for the 2011 Taipei World Design Expo (with 19 cities from 13 countries), overall strategy development, project management, international negotiation and resource integration, etc. The expo attracted 1.36 million visitors in a month and 56 exhibitors from 56 countries. It was highly praised by people at home and abroad, which greatly enhanced Taiwan's international design image and laid a good foundation for Taiwan's subsequent international cooperation.

 

He was responsible for the Taipei’s bid for the World Design Capital of 2016, strategy development and its implementation. He used to handle the 7 official events of the WDC, establish links that connects the city and the whole world and successfully introduce design into municipal construction and citizens' lives. He is an important promoter and planner of the design city.
