Hannu Kahonen, male, Finnish national, born in Turku, Finland in 1948. Professor Hannu Kohonen is the design decision maker and general director in Finland, the top industrial design master in Europe, the Finnish artist professor (awarded by the President), the president of the Creadesign Oy.

 

He was appointed as a specially engaged professor by Guangdong University of Technology in 2011 and the leader of the scientific research team in the Industrial Design Integrated Innovation Team, which is an scientific research innovation team introduced by Guangdong provincial government in 2012. As one of the most influential industrial design masters in Europe, Professor Hannu enjoys a high international reputation in the field of design and has made outstanding achievements. His design works and products cover almost all fields of industrial design - from architecture to transportation, electronics, machinery and equipment, furniture, public facilities, lighting and visual communication. His representative designs include the world's first GPS cell phone, the barrier-free system of Finland's national transportation network, the new SM intercity train in Finland, Helsinki new electric vehicle, and the AB series of lock systems that have been selling well in Europe and America for decades. For his outstanding contributions to the field of design, he has received more than 40 international and national honors and awards, including the Artist Professor and the Finnish Professional Medal by the President of Finland, the MOUTO Lifetime Achievement Award by the United Nations, the KAJ FRANCK Design Award, the highest international design award and the IF Design Award (2F Chair), the Finnish Professional Design Award, etc. Meanwhile, his company Creadesign Oy has been rated as one of the most innovative companies in Finland by the independent SUOMEN VAHVIMMAT agency.
