Since taking this office, Mr. Wang has been leading the upgrade of Skyworth Design, upgrading Skyworth Industrial Design Institute from a single design department to a diversified product incubation department, actively exploring the development of new retail for traditional enterprise, and promoting the commercial implementation of Skyworth Smart Home. He has been responsible for the selection of multiple products of Smart Home for a long time. He develops design strategy, cultivates designer echelon, refines Skyworth design philosophy, and develops Skyworth language. He is also responsible for AIOT scenario planning, implementation and promotion of multi-product business.

 

In his view, design is a long distance race and comes not simply from a flash of light, but requires a lot of time and energy to constantly be improved and self-subverted in order to be better. Designers should focus on learning professional knowledge, but also learning many other fields of knowledge. In the eyes of others, TVs do not require good design, and 90% of the area is occupied by the screen. But compared with other electronic products, TV products have a longer life cycle, and users vary from one person to a family. This means that in addition to thinking about products and people, designers also need to think about the relationship between time and space, in order to continuously introduce better products to surprise users.

 

He believes that design is not simply an expression of aesthetics. Designers need to constantly change their roles to feel the problems faced by users in different aspects of the product. Designers cannot simply regard the end user of the product as their only user. It is necessary to consider all the people who are connected with it in the life cycle of the product, including all the personnel in R&D, production, supply and sales, and the end user. The designer needs to review a plan repeatedly from different angles. The design scheme or plan of each product must go through three rounds of filtering. The filtering indicators are users, enterprises and markets. First, is the innovation useful to users. Second, does it meet the market demand in the target time period. Third, does it meet the brand tone. He hopes to explore a design idea of “hitting the top and bottom and connecting the front and back”, and experience the “penetrating role” through design to make the design and products intermingle, so as to achieve product’s shape and god. Based on the above ideas, he helps companies, such as ZTE, Skyworth, Micro Whale create hundreds of popular products and achieve great commercial success and dozens of design awards.
